The Formation of the Bible (Canonization) Part 1<\/p>\n

Introduction<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

So long as the living voice of prophets or apostles was to be heard, there was no pressing need of having God\u2019s words in writing.\u00a0 Jews had a formula to pass on God\u2019s words in an oral form with a way it won\u2019t be forgotten or mistaken.\u00a0 But as soon as these men were dead or the country was under threat, it became necessary to gather their writings together.<\/p>\n

Before we look at the formation of the Bible, we must clearly make the statement theologically.\u00a0 We believe that all scriptures were God-breathed, never had its origin in the will of man. \u00a0Only the process of gathering different books as canon involved quite a long time and human authorities.\u00a0 Canonical books are all God-given and people of faith feel compelled to obey them.<\/p>\n

The Old Testament (Tanakh)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s look at the formation by two groups, the Old Testament and the New Testament.\u00a0 (Actually Jews have no concept about OT and NT.\u00a0 Their Bible has the OT part and it is the only Bible they have.\u00a0 Jews call the Bible as Tanakh). \u00a0The formation of the OT canon was gradual, and was composed of writings which spread over many centuries.<\/p>\n

The OT consists of 39 books.\u00a0 They are separated into three segments \u2013<\/p>\n

(1)\u00a0\u00a0 Torah \u2013 The Law (i.e the first 5 books)<\/p>\n

(2)\u00a0\u00a0 Nevi\u2019im \u2013 The Prophets<\/p>\n

(3)\u00a0\u00a0 Kethuvim \u2013 The Writings<\/p>\n

(1) \u00a0Torah \u2013 The Law<\/p>\n

According to Deuteronomy 31:9, Moses wrote down the law and commanded that the books of the law be placed in the ark.\u00a0 Therefore, we believe the books (at least part of it) of the law were already formed during Moses\u2019 time.\u00a0 The Torah is very important to Jews.\u00a0 They are called the canon of the canons.<\/p>\n

2. \u00a0Nevi\u2019im \u2013 The Prophets<\/p>\n

Based on the following scriptures, we believe some books (maybe most books) of prophets existed in the time of our Lord Jesus.<\/p>\n

Daniel 9:2 Daniel understood from the scriptures, according to the word of the Lord given to Jeremiah the prophet about the desolation of Jerusalem would last 70 years.<\/p>\n

Luke 24:27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he (Jesus) explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.<\/p>\n

3. \u00a0Kethuvim \u2013 The Writings<\/p>\n

Luke 24:27 Psalm was mentioned by Jesus.\u00a0 Actually many books were already written before Jesus\u2019 time as there were many evidences found.<\/p>\n

Canonization of the Old Testament<\/span><\/p>\n

When the pressure from Romans against the Judaism was getting big, and when Jerusalem was destroyed in A.D. 70, Jews started to really press on for the canonization.\u00a0 Most people believe it was completely formed in the second century.\"\"<\/p>\n

\u8056\u7d93\u7684\u5f62\u6210\uff08\u6210\u5178\uff09\u4e0a\u96c6<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u5f15\u8a00<\/span><\/p>\n

\u807d\u898b\u5148\u77e5\u6216\u4f7f\u5f92\u6d3b\u751f\u751f\u7684\u8072\u97f3\uff0c\u5be6\u5728\u6025\u4e0d\u8457\u53bb\u628a\u795e\u7684\u8a71\u8a9e\u8a18\u9304\u4e26\u6536\u96c6\u4e0b\u4f86\u3002\u7336\u592a<\/span>\u4eba\u6709\u4e00\u500b\u53e3\u8ff0\u7684\u65b9\u5f0f\uff0c\u80fd\u6e96\u78ba\u7121\u8aa4\u5730\u50b3\u905e\u795e\u7684\u8aaa\u8a71\u3002\u4f46\u96a8\u8457\u9019\u4e9b\u4eba\u7684\u96e2\u53bb\uff0c\u6216\u570b\u5bb6\u53d7\u5230\u5a01\u8105\uff1b\u5c31\u5fc5\u9808\u532f\u96c6\u4ed6\u5011\u6240\u5beb\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n

\u672a\u770b\u8056\u7d93\u7684\u5f62\u6210\u524d\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u5fc5\u9808\u5f9e\u795e\u5b78\u7684\u89d2\u5ea6\u4e0a\u4f5c\u51fa\u8072\u660e\u3002\u6211\u5011\u76f8\u4fe1\u6240\u6709\u7d93\u6587\u90fd\u662f\u795e\u6240\u9ed8\u793a\u7684\uff0c\u4e00\u9ede\u4e5f\u6c92\u6709\u4eba\u610f\u5728\u5167\u3002\u63db\u8a00\u4e4b\uff0c\u8056\u7d93\u4f5c\u8005\u5c31\u662f\u795e\u7684\u4ee3\u7b46\u4eba\uff0c\u5728\u7942\u7684\u9ed8\u793a\u4e4b\u4e0b\u5beb\u51fa\u7942\u7684\u555f\u793a\u4f86\u3002\u4f46\u662f\uff0c\u5728\u532f\u96c6\u7d93\u5377\u7684\u904e\u7a0b\u4e2d\uff0c\u537b\u727d\u6d89\u4e86\u5f88\u591a\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u793e\u7fa4\u548c\u6f2b\u9577\u7684\u6642\u9593\u3002<\/p>\n

\u820a\u7d04\uff08\u5854\u7d0d\u8d6b\uff09<\/span><\/p>\n

\u8981\u770b\u8056\u7d93\u7684\u5f62\u6210\uff0c\u6700\u597d\u662f\u5206\u70ba\u820a\u7d04\u8207\u65b0\u7d04\u5169\u500b\u7d44\u5225\u3002\uff08\u5176\u5be6\u7336\u592a\u4eba\u4e26\u6c92\u6709\u65b0\u820a\u7d04\u7684\u89c0\u5ff5\u3002\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u8056\u7d93\u662f\u6c92\u6709\u65b0\u7d04\u7684\u90e8\u4efd\u3002\u7336\u592a\u4eba\u7a31\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u8056\u7d93\u70ba\u5854\u7d0d\u8d6b\u3002\uff09\u532f\u96c6\u820a\u7d04\u8056\u7d93\u66f8\u5377\u662f\u6f38\u9032\u7684\uff0c\u800c\u5beb\u6210\u66f8\u5377\u7684\u6642\u9593\u5247\u8d85\u904e\u5f88\u591a\u500b\u4e16\u7d00\u3002<\/p>\n

\u6574\u672c\u820a\u7d04\u670939\u5377\u66f8\u3002\u8b93\u6211\u5011\u5206\u70ba\u4e09\u985e\uff1a<\/p>\n

\uff08\u4e00\uff09\u6469\u897f\u4e94\u7d93\uff08\u59a5\u62c9\u3001\u5f8b\u6cd5\u66f8\uff09<\/p>\n

\u5f9e\u7533\u547d\u8a1831\uff1a9 \u7684\u7d93\u6587\u4e2d\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u77e5\u9053\u6469\u897f<\/span>\u5beb\u4e0b\u5f8b\u6cd5\u66f8\uff0c\u4e26\u4ea4\u7d66\u62ac\u7d04\u6ac3\u7684\u796d\u53f8\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u76f8\u4fe1\u5728\u6469\u897f<\/span>\u7684\u6642\u4ee3\uff0c\u6469\u897f\u4e94\u7d93\u5df2\u5b58\u5728\u3002\u7336\u592a\u4eba\u5f88\u91cd\u8996\u59a5\u62c9\uff1b\u4ed6\u5011\u7a31\u59a5\u62c9\u662f\u6b63\u5178\u4e2d\u7684\u6b63\u5178\u3002<\/p>\n

\uff08\u4e8c\uff09\u5148\u77e5\u66f8<\/p>\n

\u5f9e\u4f46\u4ee5\u7406\u66f89\uff1a2\u53ca\u8def\u52a0\u798f\u97f324\uff1a27\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u76f8\u4fe1\u6709\u90e8\u4efd\u6216\u5927\u90e8\u4efd\u7684\u5148\u77e5\u66f8\u5df2\u5b58\u5728\u65bc\u4e3b\u8036\u7a4c\u7684\u5e74\u4ee3\u3002<\/p>\n

\uff08\u4e09\uff09\u8056\u5377\uff08\u6587\u66f8\uff09<\/p>\n

\u5f9e\u8def\u52a0\u798f\u97f324\uff1a44\u4e2d\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u76f8\u4fe1\u8a69\u7bc7\u5df2\u5b58\u5728\u65bc\u4e3b\u8036\u7a4c\u7684\u5e74\u4ee3\u3002\u6709\u95dc\u5176\u4ed6\u7684\u8056\u5377\uff0c\u96d6\u7136\u7d93\u6587\u6c92\u6709\u63d0\u53ca\uff0c\u4f46\u5f9e\u5176\u4ed6\u7684\u6587\u737b\uff0c\u53ef\u4ee5\u8b49\u5be6\u4ed6\u5011\u4e5f\u5b58\u5728\u65bc\u4e3b\u8036\u7a4c\u7684\u5e74\u4ee3\u3002<\/p>\n

\u820a\u7d04\u8056\u7d93\u7684\u532f\u96c6<\/span><\/p>\n

\u7576\u7f85\u99ac\u653f\u5e9c\u5411\u7336\u592a\u6559\u4e0d\u65b7\u5730\u65bd\u52a0\u58d3\u529b\uff0c\u4e26\u65bc\u516c\u514370\u5e74\u8056\u6bbf\u88ab\u6bc0\u5f8c\uff0c\u7336\u592a\u4eba\u4fbf\u8feb\u5207\u5730\u532f\u96c6\u8056\u7d93\u66f8\u5377\u3002\u5927\u90e8\u4efd\u5b78\u8005\u8a8d\u70ba\uff0c\u6574\u672c\u820a\u7d04\u8056\u7d93\u7684\u532f\u96c6\u548c\u6210\u5178\uff0c\u5927\u6982\u65bc\u516c\u5143\u4e8c\u4e16\u7d00\u671f\u9593\u5b8c\u6210\u3002<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
